Alogia

Alogia, or "Poverty of Speech", is where you constantly give limited, simple responses to questions. Normal friendly social speech often includes extra information to propel the conversation forward. However, this does not apply to technical conversations, interrogations, or being upset at the other speaker.

This is common in people with autism. If this is spotted in an elderly person and/or right after a head injury, it could be dementia or a Traumatic Brain Injury. If it's paired with other symptoms, it's a sign of schizophrenia.
