Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are a dilation of the veins caused by high blood pressure, which causes the internal valves to not work.

They look like bulging blue veins.

To treat them, take aspirin or ibuprofen. If you have pain without any visible signs, or the skin looks discolored, see a doctor immediately, as that might be deep varicose veins. Wear comfortable shoes, and occasionally sit or lie down with your feet elevated.

Prevention

  1. Have a healthy blood pressure level
  2. Take Vitamin C and E, and drink plenty of water
  3. If you stand for a long amount of time, stretch and move your legs
  4. If you are pregnant, lay on your left side. This will also help the fetus.
  5. (Women) Wear flat shoes instead of high heels
